Baptism

Earlier this month we had Yvie baptized. My oldest brother Ray and my sister Sandra were the Godparents. Most of my relatives came to support us and Yvie as she was welcomed into the Catholic church.

Earrings and Potty

Yesterday was a big day for my kids. Yesterday we took Yvie to get her ears pierced. It was not good for me even though she did ok. I have turned into a wuss! Couldn't bear to watch. Thank God Dave was the one who held her and was there during the whole agonizing time. Yvie is a strong, squirmy little girl! She held her own, but daddy was a little bit stronger. Now, Yvie has her 'bling' just like mommy!

As for DJ, he went poop in the potty all by himself! This was the first time for him. He went in the bathroom in the dark and did his business. I am so proud of him! Couldn't believe that something that big came out of him. Quite impressive.

Rolling over

Is it just me? Am I the only one who finds complete joy and wonderment when my daughter who is just 12 wks today rolled over for the first time? I am filled with so much emotion that I begin to cry. I cry because I am happy, proud, and excited all at the same time.

New Years

Our New Years Day! Sledding with DJ while Yvie slept in the car where it was nice and warm. God graced us with a beautiful, cold day.

Christmas

This year was a very tight Christmas for us. After being on bed rest for several months, having a baby, then finding out I wasn't going to have a job once my maternity leave was over, money was tight. With the grace of God we have managed through it and our kids are none the worse for wear because of it. We had each other, food on our table, roof over our heads, and we were all in good health! DJ got to help this year to decorate and Santa came to visit him and brought him some Hot Wheels and a Sponge Bob pillow which he loves. I have to say it was pretty damn good. Yvie gave us a Christmas present by waking us up only once that night which was fantastic. We are truly fortunate.
