Last month Yvie said her first word...and I am sorry to say that it wasn't mama but dada! Dave is completely thrilled and over the moon and constantly encourages Yvie to say dada all the time! I can't be sad since DJ's first word was mama. So, I guess we are even.

Last month DJ had his first cleaning and his first filling! I was so nervous for him, but once again he proved to be Mommy's little trooper and took it like a little man. Watching a video, and having some nitrous definitely helped along with sitting in mommy's lap.
My beautiful, smiling, happy daughter got her first tooth last month on the 18th. She is the complete opposite of my son when it came to the teething. She was just a little fussy and whiny, nothing like the full blown crying and screaming session her brother showed us. Just goes to show that all kids are different, but I love them both just the same!

My little man has finally turned 3!!! He makes me so happy! Thank you God for blessing me with this child and for letting me be his mother! I hope he knows how much I love him. He has turned my life upside down and inside out. Here's to 3 wonderful years! Nothing quite like spending your birthday at the park, then playing 'cars' with daddy!
On a side note, Dj is done potty training!!!! Yay, no more diapers or pull ups!!! Way to go DJ!

Time has a way of getting away from you. one moment it it February, the next time I look it is June! Where has the time gone???? So much has happened since I last posted. I don't know where to begin. First off, in March, Dave was gone for several weeks getting ready for his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan (which he got put on stand by). This was a very trying time for me and especially DJ since he has become so attached to his Dada. He was pretty good most of the time and showed me lots of patience since he had to wait for me a lot due to his sister who needed me more than him. The hard part was him waking up at night crying for his Dada. This scared me a lot since he is normally a good sleeper and never wakes up. I felt so bad for him. It's a horrible thing to hear your child crying with fear. This started happening quite frequently coinciding with Yvie's night feedings. Needless to say, I did not sleep very much.
Since Dave was going to get deployed, we decided this might be a good time to get married. So off to Las Vegas we went with two kids in tow. An 8 hour drive turning into 10 hours. DJ was a real trooper, Yvie not so much on the way there, much better on the way back. Talk about a turn around trip! We get there, go get the license, and then to the hotel to get the kids ready for bed. The next day we get married, have lunch with my family, go back to the hotel and relax. Then bath and bedtime for the kids. Not much of a wedding night! LOL! Next day another long drive home.
Deployment day was looming over our heads and then Dave gets told he is on standby! I thanked God! I was happy for myself and the kids, sad for Dave because he just wanted to get this over with while the kids were still young. Oh well, that's the military for you! So, we were able to enjoy our Easter without having to think that this might be the last one.

Yesterday was a big day for my kids. Yesterday we took Yvie to get her ears pierced. It was not good for me even though she did ok. I have turned into a wuss! Couldn't bear to watch. Thank God Dave was the one who held her and was there during the whole agonizing time. Yvie is a strong, squirmy little girl! She held her own, but daddy was a little bit stronger. Now, Yvie has her 'bling' just like mommy!
As for DJ, he went poop in the potty all by himself! This was the first time for him. He went in the bathroom in the dark and did his business. I am so proud of him! Couldn't believe that something that big came out of him. Quite impressive.
Is it just me? Am I the only one who finds complete joy and wonderment when my daughter who is just 12 wks today rolled over for the first time? I am filled with so much emotion that I begin to cry. I cry because I am happy, proud, and excited all at the same time.
