Picture with Santa

Today we spent over an hour in line right before nap time to take DJ's yearly picture with Santa. Despite the long line and wait my little man persevered and gave me a beautiful smile. As soon as we got into the car he promptly fell asleep. What a little trooper.

Doing laundry

DJ has been so cute lately.  He has been trying to be so helpful.  He has been trying to help with putting away groceries, do yard work, and help with the laundry.  I caught him on video yesterday helping Dave with it.  Hope you like it!

HALLOWEEN

Yesterday we started our day by going to the zoo for their annual 'zoo boo'.  We dressed DJ as a skeleton and he got his first taste of Halloween this year.  We didn't stay long since it became crowded very fast.  It definitely was a colorful display of costumes!  Later on that evening we got DJ dressed as a dragon.  He was too cute! Didn't even get scared.  He had his bag ready for the treats! Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Climbing the roof

Today Dave decided to put the cover on the swamp cooler and rake a few leaves in the backyard before tomorrows storm of rain and possible snow.  Little did we know our little DJ would decide to copy Daddy and climbs the ladder all by himself without help to the roof where Dave grabbed a hold of him.  My heart was racing as I watched him, making sure he did not fall.  I waited until he was in Dave's arms then I grabbed the camera.  My little man seems to have no fear.  He sure did give me a couple of new grays!

DJ picks his first pumpkin

Isn't it funny how we take our kids to places we think they might enjoy and tell them to 'look at this' or 'check this out' hoping they will enjoy the time and effort we as parents are putting ourselves through. I was thinking of this as we took DJ to a pumpkin patch this past weekend. There were some goats to pet, hay to climb, pumpkins to pick and things to do. We try to show our kids things hoping they will have wonderful childhood memories and appreciate what we did for them. I hope when DJ sees these pictures later on in life he understands how much we wanted to share with him.

Balloon Fiesta

Today we took DJ to the Balloon Fiesta which is a big thing here in Albuquerque. We started our day @ 4am (not including Dave who just got off of work and was already going on 24 hrs of no sleep). It was a very cold morning probably above 35 degrees. DJ was warm enough, but me and Dave were a bit under dressed. Could've used another jacket or blanket and thicker gloves! It didn't matter since it was a beautiful crisp fall morning. The balloons were colorful and the atmosphere was exciting. DJ go a kick out of it, but I think I enjoyed watching him watch everything even more! I am truly blessed and fortunate!

Yesterday Dave left the screen door open to the backyard and someone followed him outside with no shoes or bottoms on. I thought it was so cute I had to capture these precious moments.

STATE FAIR

Today we went to the state fair. DJ got to pet some animals, be a pretend farmer, and ride a tractor. All in all it was a good day!

Sadness

Just went for my check up yesterday and found out my baby had died in utero. They couldn't find a heartbeat and then did an ultrasound. All my worst fears were realized. I think I was in total shock yesterday because I felt nothing. No emotions of any kind. It was not a good feeling. Today I feel great sadness and overwhelmed with emotion. I jut feel like sitting and doing nothing but that is not fair to DJ. He still needs his mommy to love him, hold him, and play with him. Life still goes on despite everything else.

We recently took DJ to the local outdoor mall where there is a 'waterworks' of sort where one can refresh themselves. It is quite the popular place in the middle of summer. This was DJs first time and had to have mommy walk him through it. He wasn't so sure at first, then he got the hang of it!

I have been very neglectful in not posting any updates in a while. Lots of things have been going on to blog about...but sometimes (alot lately) I've bee too tired to do anything! First off erlier this month Dave and I have done some hiking in the Jemez mountains and went to some Indian ruins. I am sad to say that this was the last time I was able to carry DJ in his backpack. Being pregnant can really zap all your energy and stamina!!!

I'm MAD!!!

I have to say I am not in the greatest frame of mind while writing this...but today I had my car broken into. I had my window smashed and my GPS stolen. I know that is not alot, but when you work hard for all the little things hat you have and then someone just steals it, it can make one feel very pissed and violated. I don't think pissed is a strong enough word for how I feel. I know these items are replaceable, but that is not the point. My trust in people is at an all time low. I am at least grateful that I was able to replace the window within a couple of hours of it happening, but it was all on me. My deductible was too high. Isn't that just a pisser?!?

Vacation

It's been a couple of days since we came back from California. The time went by so fast. It's hard to cram so many things in such a short amount of time. It's even harder when you have a little one who needs to take naps. All in all it was a good time. To start with, I got a chance to visit my friend Natalie, her daughter Avi and her son who is still baking in the oven. Next we were able to spend the day with Dave's daughter Jamie. This was the first time Jamie met her brother. They seemed to hit it off really well. He didn't give her the shy treatment at all. We also went to Disneyland which DJ did really at. He didn't get scared at all and was able to squeeze in 2 naps. The next day we went to a Dodger game which was a birthday present from my brother. I thought it was going to be an early evening and that we would have to leave because of DJ, but he surprised us and made it until the middle of the 8th inning. I do have to say we had a nice vacation even driving from Albuquerque to So Cal and vice versa with an infant and two dogs wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I do have to say we are very blessed.

Meeting A Good Friend

Just came back from vacation to California and had a chance to meet up with my very good friend Nat!! I also got to meet her daughter Avi for the first time. She reminds me so much of Erik. Her little facial expressions is so him. We had lunch at the cheescake factory (I miss that place) and went to Huntington Beach for the afternoon. Her little Avi is quite the water baby. She just walked right in no problem. It was a wonderful day...no June gloom! I was so happy to see Nat. I haven't seen her in 6 years. Where has the time gone? It didn't seem like that long. Avi and DJ seemed to hit it off real good. I hope Nat and I meet up again real soon.
